think I my have a clot in right leg behind my knee. I’m so concerned i’ll have to be hospiyalized. I have a daughter with brain Cancer and have to be here for her. Can this be treated at home with drugs?

Probably, especially if it is DVT. they can treat it but they have to monitor you in hospital to make sure treatment was effective and clot didn’t break up and go elsewhere.

If you haven’t been diagnosed, it is possible your symptoms are being caused by something else other than a blood clot. But here’s the most important point: there are different types of blood clots that can occur in the knee or lower leg. One in particular, deep vein thrombosis or DVT, is considered dangerous, and doctors generally do want to hospitalize patients with that one. But other less dangerous and more common types of blood clots, while still a concern and still needing treatment so they don’t become something worse, often do not lead to hospitalization if you’re in generally good health otherwise. So as you can tell: it depends.

However before you worry too much about this, if you haven’t been seen recently by a doctor for this, it’s important to get it checked and diagnosed by a doctor fairly soon. If in reading about this or websearching it, you decide that there’s a good chance that you do have deep vein thrombosis, then that is a medical emergency, and you should go to the ER as soon as you can. Otherwise, if you’re pretty sure it’s not DVT, you should make an appointment to get it checked by a doctor in an outpatient office within the next week.
