You may want to try the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly statistics publication of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention in Atlanta. The website is cdc.gov.
The FDA deals with drug approvals and use.
The DEA (drug enforcement agency) may also have some stats on interdictions for drugs in how many lbs or kilos of whatever they capture, but they don’t track addicts.
The US public health service or your county or state public health service may also have some stats.
